Hello

I am a post grad sports nutrition student at Glasgow Uni, and im hoping to recruit a few runners to take part in my dissertation study.
We are investigating the effect of a high or low GI diet on running performance.

Please can you forward this onto anyone who might be interested at your club.

We are looking for females aged between 18-35, who train two or more times a week.

Why take part?
We will provide you with information on your VO2 Max, basal metabolic rate, and we will also anaylse your habitual diet, all of which will be incredibly useful to any serious athlete for training/competing. On top of this we will provide you with free food for 10days!!

You will be asked to come into the lab (at glasgow university) 4 times, firstly to measure your basal metabolic rate and VO2 max. The next 3 times you come to the lab, you will be asked to run to exhuastion at 65% VO2max (this is a nice, easy, comfortable pace). For 5 days before each of these tests, you will consume a high carb diet of either a high GI or low GI diet, or just your normal diet.

Before taking this study on, i was a volunteer (for the male version) and i enjoyed being a part of the study, mainly to find out my VO2max, but also just to see how long i could run for, and to properly analyze my diet. This study could be used as a nice competition between a few of the ladies to see who can run the longest?!

Please can you forward this on to the other ladies at your club.

If there is any interest or have any questions then please contact me by replying to this, or on 07732899140

Please contact me ASAP as we only have a limited time to do our dissertation in and so need to start testing ASAP

Thanks again
