Hi,
I am writing to you on behalf of the "Friends of the
Red Hose Race" to give you the opportunity to secure your clubs entry to a
major event organised in South Lanarkshire.
You might not know about it because for centuries, this
race was only opened to the people of Carnwath and the surrounding parishes.
This year, however, we have asked the Crown authorities to open the race to
the whole of South Lanarkshire.
The Red Hose Race is recognised as the oldest road race
in the World. This year is its 500th anniversary and to celebrate, we are
also organising a themed fun day for all the family.
We would be honoured if your club could take part to
the race.
